Travel Information

All registered Staff Members have been mailed Staff Transportation Advisory Instructions. This is a very important document and it must have been filled out and returned to the National Jamboree Division by March 31st, 2010.

As soon as you have your travel arrangements finalized, you may submit your travel advisory by going to www.MyScouting.org and logging in to your MyScouting account. (For assistance with MyScouting please contact our Customer Support Center at 800-627-3025.) Once logged in, go to "Events", "National Scout Jamboree" and "Staff Travel Advisory". You received your arrival date information in separate email last Fall.

Obtaining your final travel plans is a vital part of our preparations for food, housing, shuttle transportation and vehicle storage.
EVERY STAFF MEMBER MUST FILE A TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BY MARCH 31, 2010 FOR ADMITTANCE TO FORT A.P. HILL, VIRGINIA.

You will be able to purchase a one way or round trip shuttle pass from/to Washington Reagan Airport (DCA), Dulles Airport (IAD), or Richmond Airport (RIC) to/from the jamboree site or advise if you are arriving by private vehicle.

Please read the following instructions very carefully before completing the form:

Access to the Travel Advisory page:
Access to the travel form is limited to a one time entry and for confirmed jamboree staff only. All edits after the submission of the Travel Advisory must be sent to jamboree.transport@scouting.org.

Private Vehicles:
If you are planning on driving to Fort A.P. Hill, you should plan on arriving at the time and date agreed upon by your staff leader or supervisor. There are no exceptions to this rule. You may drive your personal vehicle to your housing area and unload personal gear and equipment up to noon on Sunday, July 25, 2010. Your vehicle must then be parked in the staff parking lot at Archer Camp. Bus transportation to and from staff areas and Archer will be available beginning on July 25, 2010 and concluding on August 5, 2010. This free shuttle service and secured parking is provided as a courtesy to our staff. Private vehicles parked illegally on the jamboree site will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense due to security precautions.

Staff Transportation from airports:
Transportation will be available from Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles Airport (IAD), and Richmond International Airport (RIC). Transportation will not be provided to/from other airports or railway stations. When making flight travel arrangements, it is imperative you consider the bus departure times offered if electing to purchase the shuttle passes. Do not forget that baggage pickup and terminal walking could consume a considerable amount of time. On choosing the return shuttle pass, in addition to airport required advance check-in times, you must also allow four hours for your transfer to the Washington DC area airports and two hours for your transfer to the Richmond airport. Shuttle passes are $60.00 one way and $100 roundtrip and should be purchased no later than March 31, 2010. Late fees of $15 on one-way fares and $25 on roundtrip fares will be accessed after this date. The cut-off date to purchase shuttle transportation is June 15, 2010.

Arrivals:
Arrival transportation will be available from the designated airports beginning on Monday, July 19 through Saturday, July 24, 2010. Shuttle times from each airport will be at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm.

Departures:
Departure transportation will be available on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 12 noon and 2pm and Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 6am and 8am to the designated airports.

SHUTTLE PASSES ARE NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE!!
